It's fall, for now.
But winter is coming.
And I can't wait.
It's one of my very most favorite times of year.
Because so many good and beautiful and wonderful things happen during winter.
Some of my very most favorite things.
Christmas lights get hung.
Not just the little white dainty ones that looks so classy and
Because they're special.
They were my PaPa's.
Then my Daddy's.
And now they're mine.
Standing in front of fireplaces.
Because there's nothing better than backing up to a fireplace and letting it warm you all over.
Or laying on the floor in front of it for a peaceful winter afternoon nap.
On the side of the house or hanging from leaves or branches or the bottom of your car.
They're beautiful and reflect the purest, most incredible light ever!
Seeing my breath in the air.
Because it's the best magic trick I can do for my little boy.
He thinks it's amazing and then will try to imitate me so he can do it, too!
Not that snuggling isn't a favorite of mine year-round. But it's even better in the winter because it's more publicly acceptable if everyone thinks you're trying to keep warm!
Scarves, mittens & big heavy coats.
Cause there's nothing better than walking around wrapped in a warm hug from your warmest, snuggliest winter-apparrel.
Main streets at Christmas-time.
Because almost every city across America brings out the red bows and the green garland and the Christmas lights that shout the season all up and down the town!
Christmas Decorations of any kind.
Manger Scenes, best of all.
Because that's really what the holidays are about.
Not this kind of present.
But the kind you feel from the inside. The kind that never leave you.
The kind of gifts that can be given by those who mean the very most to you--FAMILY OR FRIENDS--or those who you don't even know, strangers passing on the street.
It's my very favorite time of year.
Because it's full of my very favorite things.
